Supplements maybe Harmful to you Health

There are many products of the vitamin or supplement on the market that come with misleading or insufficient information. Therefore, taking them based on the labels can be like playing with health.
  • Vitamin C: Many people take many times the recommended daily dose, no problem. However, very high doses - more than 1 g (1000 mg) can cause diarrhea.

  • Beta-carotene is converted to Vitamin A in the body. Long-term overdose may lead to weaker bones. Vitamin A overdose is very dangerous for pregnant women, due to effects on the unborn baby. For this reason, pregnant women are advised not to take vitamin supplements containing vitamin A (or fish oil supplements, which are rich in vitamin), and do not eat liver.

  • Calcium: Very high doses (over 1,500 mg a day) can lead to stomach upsets.

  • Iron: Too much can cause constipation. The official guide is that 17mg per day should be safe for most people, but some people really need more, for example, if you are receiving treatment for anemia.

  • Zinc: Too much can cause stomach aches and nausea.

Propecia: An Effective Treatment of Male Pattern Hair Loss

Propecia is known to be an effective treatment of male pattern hair loss. It is a brand marketed by the pharmaceutical giant Merck. The main constituent of this brand is Finasteride. The drug finasteride is a synthetic antiandrogen, which is considered to be highly potent treatment for male pattern baldness. According to a study, men with mild to moderate hair loss, 66% of the men who took Propecia daily, re-grew hair loss.

How It Works?
Propecia is known for significantly reducing DHT (dihydrotestosterone), which is the main cause of hair loss. DHT is a substance in the body that can shrink the hair follicle until it no longer produces visible hair. The drug acts by inhibiting type II 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT (dihydrotestosterone). By blocking this enzyme, the drug reduces androgenic activity in the scalp, treating hair loss at its hormonal source.

Side Effects:
At first, the drug Propecia is mainly for hair loss in men and should not be taken at all by women or children. Worst still, it should not be even handled in crushed form by pregnant or expecting women as it may result in to a number of birth defects. The drug is said to be causing impotency among men, decreased volume of ejaculation, reduction in the sexual ability, breast enlargement in male, erectile dysfunction and testicular pain.  It is also believed that the drug is effective only for as long as it is taken; the hair gained or maintained is lost within 6–12 months of ceasing therapy.

Forms of Propecia
Propecia is available in the form of tablets (1mg Finasteride). It is available as a film coated tablet in different pack sizes.

Availability:
The product Propecia is a prescription drug, it can be purchased only on the prescription from a registered medical practitioner. However, the best thing about the product is that it is easily available online (need to have valid prescription). There are various online pharmacies that provide this tablet at reduced prices as compared to conventional drug stores. One needs to be very cautious when purchasing online; one needs to make sure that they are sourcing their requirement only through registered pharmacy. The pharmacy also needs to have a long term reputation so that they can do justice as regards pricing and delivery of the product.

A no. of shopping portals has come into existence including online pharmacy stores that offers medications on the internet. Pharmacy stores operating online offer a number of benefits to buyers and hence, purchasing online has become a way of life for most people. Levitra: Is It Harmful?

Levitra belongs to a group of medication used for treating erectile dysfunction in men. It is a known medication for the treatment of weak penile erection. This embarrassing situation of failing to maintain an erection until ejaculation is often referred to as impotence. There are a number of medications that are used by men all across the world to correct erectile dysfunction. The pill Levitra that belongs to the ED group of drugs has gained immense popularity due to its encouraging results.

The pill Levitra is considered to be a wonder pill by those suffering from erectile dysfunction. The pill has a simple mechanism; it works by relaxing the muscles to increase blood flow to the penis. The extra flow of blood stiffens the penis thus helping men get a harder erection. Moreover, the pill works by preventing blood from flowing out of the penis. This helps to keep a longer-lasting erection. Generally, after the sexual activity ceases, the erection goes away.

As with all ED drugs, Levitra is also not free from side effects – at first it should not be taken by those who are on nitrate drugs (often used to control chest pain). Such combinations could cause blood pressure to drop to an unsafe level. In clinical trials, the most commonly reported side effects were headache, flushing and stuffy or runny nose. The drug also carries the risk of an erection lasting longer than four hours. In such a situation immediate medical attention is required.

In rare instances, the use of Levitra may result into a sudden decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes. Its use may also result into a sudden decrease or loss in hearing, sometimes with ringing in the ears and dizziness. It is not possible to determine whether these events are related directly to PDE5 inhibitors like Levitra or to other factors.

In general, Levitra is not harmful, however, occasionally one may experience any of the above side effects; under such circumstances it is advisable to stop taking the pill and to call a doctor right away.

Is There Any Viagra Available For Women?

Is there any Viagra available for women? This question is often asked by a large number of women all across the world. Almost fifty percent of the women in the world suffer from some or the other form of sexual dysfunction. The condition of ‘sexual dysfunction’ in a woman can be described as a lack of desire, lack of arousal or inability to reach orgasm. Amongst all these situations, the one that is experienced by majority of women is a lack of desire for sex. Many women also claim to have experienced difficulties with lubrication, mainly the result of a lack of sexual arousal. It is here that drugs like female Viagra come into picture.

Truly speaking till date there are no pharmaceutical female Viagra drugs available on the market. Regular Viagra that we are all familiar with is designed to increase blood flow to the genitals. This is the pharmaceutical product Viagra that works well for many men who suffer with impotence -- or erectile dysfunction. Banking on the success of Viagra -- the drug companies hope to find its female Viagra equivalent. At the moment, they are focused on developing a drug that increases blood flow to the female genitals, resulting in vaginal lubrication and relaxing vaginal muscles.

There is no pharmaceutical female viagra available till date; however, there are a number of options that women all across the world resort to. The options include use of herbs and nutrients to enhance sex drive and pleasure. A number of libido-booster supplements are also available in the market to help women with sexual dysfunction. Availability of Female Viagra Cream – the cream is basically an arousal cream - once applied, the cream improves blood flow and dilation of the blood vessels around the clitoris thus greatly enhancing sensitivity and arousal.

Only very recently have female Viagra products moved into consumer focus. It is becoming a booming segment with more and more products added to the category. One of the products in the market that which is gaining immense popularity as “Viagra for women” is Vita Lean slimming pills. The pill Vita Lean is also considered to be the female version of Viagra.  Although the pill is widely known for its weight loss properties, Vita Lean has also been reported to contain a natural ingredient that actually boosts the female sex drive and has been compared to a female version of Viagra.

A large number of women in their 40s and 50s have noticed a boost in sex drive ‘of up to 90 per cent’, who have been taking Vita-Lean to control weight gain. It is believed that a key natural ingredient; Irvingia Gabonensis – an extract of the African mango could be responsible. Vita-Lean also known to many as female viagra can increase the sexual desire in a matter of weeks and can be taken prior to intercourse in much the same way as Viagra, they claim.

Search for Female Equivalent of Viagra

Even in the most sexually enlightened and self-satisfied of nations, many people crave to glow more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.

The market is flooded with books on how to refresh a fading libido or spice up droning sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.

And though there may be genuine sociological or personal underpinnings to that diminished desire — chronic overburden and stress, a hostile workplace, a slovenly or unsupportive spouse — still the age-old search continues for a simple chemical fix, Cupid encapsulated, a thrill in a pill.

Since the amazing achievement of Viagra and similar drugs, the pharmaceutical industry has been searching for the female equivalent of Viagra — a cure that would do for women’s most common sexual complaint, lack of craving, what sildenafil did for men’s, erectile dysfunction.

Early trials of Viagra in women proved very much unsatisfactory. The drug improved puffiness of vaginal tissue, just as it had of the penis, but that extra bit of pelvic swelling did nothing to increase women’s desire or enjoyment of sex.

Lately, another potentially capable treatment for hypoactive wish has been making its way through clinical trials. The compound, called bremelanotide, is a synthetic version of a hormone involved in skin pigmentation, and it was originally developed by Palatin Technologies of New Jersey as a probable tanning agent to help prevent skin cancer. But when male college students participating in early safety tests began reporting that the drug sometimes gave them erections, the company began exploring bremelanotide’s utility as a treatment for sexual disorders.

Studies in rodents verified that the drug not only gave male rats unprompted erections, but also fomented sexual excitement in female rats, prompting them to wiggle their ears, hop excitedly, rub noses with males and otherwise display instantly recognizable hallmarks of rodent arousal.

Importantly, the females responded to the drug only under laboratory conditions where they could maintain a sense of control over the mating game. Take away the female’s opportunity to escape or proceed at her preferred pace, and no amount of bremelanotide would get those ears to wiggle.

Inspired by the rodent, the company decided to give the drug a whirl on women. Results from a pilot study of 26 postmenopausal women with diagnoses of sexual arousal disorder suggest that bremelanotide may well have some mild aphrodisiacal properties.

Responding to questionnaires after taking either the drug or a dummy pill, 73 percent of the women on bremelanotide reported feeling genitally aroused, compared with 23 percent given the placebo; and 43 percent of the bremelanotide group said the treatment augmented their sexual desire, against only 19 percent of those on dummy pills.

Bigger trials of the drug at some 20 clinical centers around the United States are now under way. Among other things, the researchers will try adjusting the dosage to see if more bremelanotide may provoke a more robust response with a minimum of unlikable or embarrassing side effects.

Until now researchers are unsure whether continued use of bremelanotide will end up doing what the drug was meant to do in the first place, and bestow on its beaming clients a truly healthy tan.

Botox For Chronic Migraines

As we are all well aware, Botox is typically used on the face to alleviate wrinkles and give the appearance of younger looking skin. However, if you experience migraines at least 15 days a month, you can ask your health care provider about the benefits of using it on your head. It typically involves 30 or so injections placed into your forehead, temporal area, back of the head, neck and shoulders. Right now the advice is to have a head treatment every three months.

If you are looking for a more natural approach to help your migraines, then try these suggestions first before submitting to the needle:

1) Eliminate caffeine, chocolate, wine and cheese for 30 days. You may experience a "detox" headache if you are used to drinking caffeine everyday, however these are common triggers to migraines.

2) Eat protein at every meal and skip on the sugar. Many headaches are triggered by skipping meals or eating a high carbohydrate/high sugar meal. I used to treat a nurse for headaches who would eat cereal for breakfast and a granola bar for her mid-morning snack. By lunch she had a pounding headache. When I suggested she eat a high protein/high fiber cereal and a hard boiled egg as a snack all her headaches stopped.

3) Stay hydrated! Dehydration is an instant trigger for headaches. Try to drink at least 8 glasses everyday and see how you feel after a week.

4) Watch your hormones! Many women are triggered by the ups and downs of estrogen and progesterone. If you notice your headaches around ovulation and just before your period then consider hormone testing.

5) Consider B-vitamins – especially riboflavin. This powerful nutrient is important to ward off migraines and helps beat stress. Try taking 400 mg per day.

6) Get enough calcium and magnesium. These vitamins help with muscle relaxation which is important for tension type headaches.

7) Try the herb feverfew. It can take a bit to build up in your system but acts as a powerful headache alleviator.

9) Schedule a massage! Sitting at a computer all day in poor posture leads to chronic muscle tension and headaches. Treat yourself to some pampering and let someone else work out those knots and tender spots.

Skin Care Tips for Winters

The winter brings release from the burning up summer days, but can wreak havoc on your skin. One of the general skin problems in the winter are fungal infections. This is understandable as the humidity will be more and fungal activity will be at its peak! To prevent it, avoid wearing damp clothing and socks as this can affect you to fungal infections. Those who are prone to fungal infections should keep clean and dry, use an anti fungal soap, and use a prophylactic anti fungal dusting powder in the groin areas and feet. Carry an extra set of clothing or keep an extra change at your office to avoid staying in damp clothing for prolonged periods of time as this can lead to fungal infections.

Basic Skin Care

Your skin tends to be oily in this humid season and basic skin care products may need to be personalized to suit the season.

Use a medicated face wash appropriate for oily skin as it is beneficial to prevent acne break-outs

  1. Use oil-free moisturizers as your skin still needs hydration, but avoid heavy, oily creams in this humid season
  2.  Use oil-free sunscreens
  3. If your skin tends to be too oily, use an astringent or toner
  4. A mild exfoliating scrub may be done gently once or twice a week
Excessive sweating can also occur in the rainy season. This can promote the growth of fungus and often can cause a seat rash or prickly heat. Synthetic fabrics are avoidable and cool cotton fabrics that allow the skin to breathe are ideally suited for this climate. For some, the skin may still appear dry and shriveled in this season and often needs moisturizing with a light moisturizing lotion. If you are using a cream, consider changing to a lotion-based product in this season. Peeling of the skin, especially over the palms and soles, can occur in this season. Avoid prolonged or excessive water contact to prevent this.

For any persistent skin problems, it is always advisable to consult your dermatologist who will treat your complaint and also advise you on the best skin care products suited to your individual skin type. You can then take care of your skin and enjoy the rainy season.

Sunscreen

Even though the sky will be overcast, the UV rays are still penetrating and can affect your skin. Therefore, you must still use a sunscreen. Your sunscreen may need to be modified to an oil-free or gel-based one to avoid a sticky feeling. Regular application 2-3 times a day needs to be continued despite the fact that the sun may not be as visible.

Hair care

Make sure your hair is cleansed and dried thoroughly. Those whose dandruff increases in this season need to take extra care to keep the hair clean and dry. A medicated anti dandruff shampoo needs to be used regularly through this season.

Now Low Carb Diets No More a Risk

Cutting carbs does not only help you lose weight, but also reduces the heart risk factors mutually with a significant dip in diastolic blood pressure.

Finally it has been confirmed that the low-carb diets do not cause any danger to your heart. The low-fat and low-carbohydrate diets used beside fatness do not, however, come out to be useful in the long run.

The study accomplished that it did not matter if one was on a low-carbohydrate diet, a traditional low-fat diet or an Atkins-style as all of them be liable to get rid of the same amount of weight.

But people on a low-carbohydrate diet surely have an edge over the others as they turn out to have an enhanced level of cholesterol and blood pressure.

The study, carried on for 2 years, effectively focused on a change in lifestyle. The participants were asked to exercise regularly, learn the strategies for weight management and set some rational goals.

The study involving 307 middle-aged obese adults saw an average weight loss of about 22 pounds in the first year. The second year was followed by 15 pounds, on an average.

There were some momentous changes in the LDL and HDL level of different groups, which signified that low-carb food not only helped them shed some weight but also increased the level of HDL cholesterol, and improved their blood pressure.

Constipation was anyways the only side effect in low-carb diets. The increase in the level of HDL is still not known and so are the benefits of this increased HDL on a healthy heart.

Healthy Diet Reduces Risk of Chronic Diseases

According to a new Swedish study, consuming healthy foods that possess anti-inflammatory qualities could reduce the risk of getting affected with lethal diseases such as heart disease, Alzheimer’s and diabetes.

The study was conducted by researchers at Anti diabetic Food Centre at Lund University in Sweden. They found that healthy diet incorporating foods with anti-oxidants, wholegrains and essential fatty acids help in bringing the cholesterol level down by a third and lessens blood pressure by one-tenth. But, the researchers claim that only multiple foods with anti-inflammatory qualities bring this result and not a single food.

"Our purpose was to find out which preventive effect can be obtained on established risk markers by combining food concepts with an expected positive impact on inflammation", said Inger Bjorck, head of the Antidiabetic Food Centre and the lead researcher.

The study involved 44 healthy but overweight people aged 50 to 75, who were put on diet enriched with antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, low in GI carbohydrates, wholegrain products and fibrous foods.

It was found that the bad cholesterol of participants reduced to by one-third, blood pressure by 8%, blood lipids by 14% and blood clots by 26%. Also, the diet improved cognitive functioning and memory of participants, along with reducing inflammation in their body.

Melting wafer better than Viagra

Suffering from impotence? You may now try out a "melting wafer" as an alternative of consuming an anti-erectile dysfunction pill, say scientists, who declare it works quicker than the conservative drugs.

The wafer which is alike to breathe freshener strips, melts on the tongue, say the scientists. This treatment contains the same active ingredients as other anti-impotence pills, but in minor molecules; these are packed into a tiny soluble strip that sits on the tongue and disappears within seconds.

In a pilot study, where the wafer was compared with a conventional impotence pill, the wafer released parallel amount of medicine in the bloodstream. Additional trials prove the wafer works 30% faster than the popular anti-impotence pill Viagra, with most men respond in less than 30 minutes, compared with 40-60 minutes for other drugs.

This is because the tissues lining the mouth are packed with hundreds of tiny blood vessels which lie near the surface of the cheek and under the tongue — these supply a fast access way into the bloodstream. Now the manufacturer, Canadian firm Intel-Genx , is setting up better trials to verify the early findings and the melting wafer might be available within the next 2 to 3 years, the report said. The similar technology might also be used to expand fast-acting 'wafers' for pain relief , high blood pressure and depression.

Treating Male Pattern Baldness

Thousands of people in the UK experience baldness or more specifically Male Pattern Baldness. Male Pattern Baldness most often starts at some point between the early 20’s to 40’s. A lot of men stay satisfied with the balding process but numerous of them are not. The causes of Male Pattern Baldness are not however completely understood yet, but it is said that it is caused due to the combination of hormones and genetics. Hormones that were endorsing hair growth during teenage years can be the ones that are responsible for the balding process. It is also said that the hair follicles in those more hereditarily liable to male pattern baldness are more likely to be affected by the hormones.

It would not be false in saying that there is no certified or an official treatment present for male pattern baldness but there are numerous methods available to assist in effective treatment against Male Pattern Baldness. The treatment ranges from slowing hair growth to even transplanting follicles from other areas on the head.

Over the counter treatments

There is a wide variety of over the counter treatments that claim to treat Male Pattern Baldness. But, one of the most effective and a proven over the counter treatment for Male Pattern Baldness is Regaine. Minoxidil is the key ingredient present in Regaine. Originally Minoxidil was used more often for the treatment of blood pressure. The usage of Minoxidil as a treatment for male pattern baldness was just an accident. In a clinical trial, it was studied that Minoxidil when applied to the skin can promote hair growth. And this is how Minoxidil from then was promoted as an effective treatment for Male Pattern Baldness.

Regaine for Men has been specifically designed for men who want faster re-growth compared to Regaine Regular Strength. You need to apply Regaine for Men twice a day to the affected areas, once in the morning and once in the evening, leaving roughly 12 hours between applications. In the evening it's best to apply Regaine about half an hour before going to bed to give it some time to dry properly. Be patient! Regaine is definitely not a quick fix; it may take a couple of months to exhibit its effects. The results may vary from person to person but it can slow the onset of baldness or assist in re-growing hair.

Surgical Methods

There are a number of costly surgical methods for the treatment of Male Pattern Baldness

•    Hair Transplantation - Hair transplants is by far the most widely opted surgical treatments. Hair transplants basically consist of moving the blocks of healthy hair follicles from one area of the scalp to the affected area on the scalp. These healthy blocks of hair follicles are taken in a very small amount from the back side of the head. This treatment might result in Scarring occurrence and the results can vary from person to person. They are no guarantees as such whether the treatment would be permanent or only last for a short span of time.

Cosmetic

•    Hairpiece - For all those males who are really uncomfortable with balding hair and do not wish to undergo any surgery, hairpiece can be a feasible option for them.

Eventually, spending your hard owned money on some expensive surgeries or hair pieces would certainly not be a wise decision to make. Regaine is the most feasible solution and an effective treatment for Male Pattern Baldness. Regaine can be bought from this leading online pharmacy for the lowest guaranteed prices in the UK.

Ear Thermometers and Why No Home Should Be Without One

It is quite normal to see rise in our body temperature during illness. The reasons behind this are not completely understood but it is said that raise in temperature decreases the rate of reproduction of various micro-organisms making it much easier for the body to fight off illness.
